In the early stage of mydriasis, the symptoms of local redness, swelling, heat and pain will be more obvious because the inflammation is not confined. In the early stage, in order to reduce the local pain, wet cold compresses can be given, and cool water towels can be applied to the surface of the eyes 2-3 times a day, which can effectively reduce the local pain symptoms. However, when the pain is slightly reduced, it can be replaced by a local hot compress, because only a hot compress can promote blood circulation around the eyelid to reduce swelling and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition to these methods, topical antibiotics such as levofloxacin hydrochloride eye drops, erythromycin eye ointment, and tobramycin eye drops are also needed to control inflammation. Usually, after the above treatment, miosis can be restored to normal. In a small number of patients, due to the strong virulence of the infected bacteria, local abscesses may be formed and surgery is recommended to avoid the spread of infection.
