What to do if you lie down and make a noise in your windpipe

A sound in the trachea after lying down is commonly seen in bronchitis. When you lie down and change your position, a large amount of inflammatory secretions in the airway will reflux into the trachea, causing narrowing of the trachea. Symptomatic and etiologic treatment can be chosen according to the symptoms. For the symptoms of wheezing and shortness of breath, inflammation can be relieved, such as glucocorticosteroid treatment, e.g. dexamethasone, budesonide. If sputum is more abundant it can be treated with nebulized inhalation in combination with chymotrypsin and ambroxol. Antibiotics are given for bacterial infections, such as the choice of amoxicillin, cefuroxime, clindamycin, and levofloxacin.
