Procedure for atrial fibrillation surgery

Atrial septal defect, there are two types of atrial septal defect surgery, namely interventional occlusion and open heart repair. 1. Interventional occlusion: Under the guidance of X-ray or esophageal ultrasound, a guide wire is inserted through the peripheral vasculature and follows the blood vessels to the atrial septal defect, and an occluder is implanted to close the gap. Interventional occlusion does not require extracorporeal circulation and is minimally invasive. It can be applied to patients with secondary foramen ovale and atrial septal defects of appropriate size and location. 2. Open-chest repair: the process is to establish extracorporeal circulation, incise the right atrium, and according to the size of the defect, choose direct suture or use patch material to repair. Common complications of open-chest repair include air embolism and third-degree atrioventricular block. Different types of atrial septal defects are used with different surgical options. Combine the characteristics of your condition and choose the appropriate treatment plan under the guidance of your doctor.
