Ib2 stage squamous cervical cancer belongs to early stage.
Squamous cervical cancer refers to invasive squamous cell carcinoma, which is a relatively common type of cervical cancer and can be classified into stages 1~4 according to the degree of infiltration. Stage Ib2 squamous cervical cancer indicates that the tumor is still confined within the cervix and has not transcended the uterus, while Stage IB2 indicates that the maximal radius of cancerous foci is larger than 2 cm and smaller than or equal to 4 cm, which is still early stage of cervical cancer.
The main treatment for stage IB2 squamous cervical cancer is surgery, and the appropriate surgical method should be chosen according to the patient’s age and whether there is a need for childbearing. Generally, extensive hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection are needed, and sentinel lymph node mapping biopsy is also considered.
If squamous cervical cancer is diagnosed, early and standardized treatment is recommended to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
