What’s wrong with the headache behind the ear?

Pain behind the ear is most often seen in patients with large occipital nerve pain, cervical spondylosis, mastoiditis, etc. Patients with large occipital nerve pain mostly present with pain behind the ear, in the back of the occipital region and in the back of the neck, and the pain is knife-like and burning, mostly due to local inflammatory stimulation, or cervical spine compression of the nerve. Headaches caused by cervical spondylosis are mostly located behind the ear and the back of the head, with tension pain, often accompanied by discomfort in the back of the neck, soreness in the shoulders, numbness in the upper limbs, and dizziness. It is mostly seen in patients who work long hours with heavy physical labor, or play with cell phones with their heads down for a long time. Cervical spine MRI can further clarify the diagnosis. mastoiditis is mostly located in the pain at the elevation behind the ear, and patients have persistent tonus pain. The pain is obviously aggravated by pressure, and local redness and swelling can be seen. It can be accompanied by fever and limb aches and pains, etc. You should pay attention to rest, avoid straining, avoid prolonged head bowing, and go to the hospital if necessary.
