Postcoronary stenting care and intervention

Coronary stenting is like a strong heart shot that saves patients’ lives and improves their quality of life. With the continuous maturity of the technology, the proportion of stent surgery use is also increasing, it makes more and more people regain their lives, so many people think that stent is everything. In fact, stenting is not a panacea. It only unclogs the narrowed blood vessels, but the risk factors for stenosis are not eliminated, and the vessels may become blocked again. Even if the stenting procedure is successful, you still need to strengthen the management after the procedure, and you should not be careless. What do you need to do after stenting? Surgical puncture site care After 1 day of stent surgery, the bandage can be removed and you can take a shower. It is normal to have hematoma at the puncture site, do not worry about it. However, if the hematoma suddenly gets bigger, which is not normal, you need to lie down and apply pressure to the puncture site for 15 minutes. If the bleeding stops after 15 minutes, you will need to stay in bed for 2 hours. Special note: If the bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes, it is recommended that you call an ambulance to take you to a hospital immediately. Know your medications For your safety, you need to know the name of the medications your doctor has prescribed for you, the dosage, when to take them, and why you are taking them. Remember to take your list of medications and your pill box/bottle with you when you go to the hospital for a follow-up appointment. If you want to take herbal supplements, remember to consult your doctor before doing so. The “bad” cholesterol is responsible for atherosclerosis, and the main cause of coronary heart disease is atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries. The main cause of coronary heart disease is atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries. Therefore, to prevent and treat coronary heart disease, we must reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol. Statin can inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, thus lowering the “bad” cholesterol and reducing the risk of coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular events. Statin is currently the most widely used lipid-lowering drug and its efficacy has been confirmed by numerous studies. Don’t forget to take statin after stenting! Beware of recurrence of coronary heart disease Some patients may also experience angina after stenting, so it is important to recognize the signs of a recurrence of coronary heart disease, take nitroglycerin during an attack, and quickly call 120 if there is no improvement. Lifestyle Intervention Although stenting is designed to get you back to your daily life as soon as possible, it is important that you exercise moderately at the beginning of the postoperative period. In terms of diet, it is important to control cholesterol and total calorie intake, and reduce salt intake. You should also stop smoking after surgery, especially within 4 weeks after stenting. Alcohol intake should not be excessive. Regular review Regular review is helpful for doctors to assess the treatment effect, observe any adverse reactions, decide whether to adjust the treatment plan, answer patients’ questions after discharge, facilitate patients’ long-term adherence to treatment, and better prevent the recurrence of cardiovascular disease! Don’t forget to go to the hospital for review at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after stenting!
