The main manifestations of hepatic encephalopathy in the prodromal stage are mild personality changes, mental abnormalities, such as anxiety and restlessness, easy agitation, sleep reversal, forgetfulness, mental dullness or increased speech, and other manifestations of mental behavior, and also fluttering tremor. If this occurs, the patient should be hospitalized early and cannot be properly managed at home. Most of the hepatic encephalopathy is caused by cirrhosis, and patients with severe hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and liver failure may also develop hepatic encephalopathy. Generally, patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, large amount of ascites and other symptoms need to go to the hospital for treatment to remove the cause of the disease to improve the symptoms, and if left unchecked, it may lead to coma, or even life-threatening. Therefore, patients with hepatic encephalopathy should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible, which is conducive to the recovery of their condition.
