How to treat lumpy pimples

Lumpy pimples may be papulopustular acne, or may be caused by folliculitis, boils, etc. They should be treated by general therapy, medication (ichthyol ointment, etc.), and other methods, depending on the cause. 1. Papulopustular acne: It is a more serious form of acne, and it is important to maintain a good diet and lifestyle, and pay attention to skin cleansing. Topical retinoic acid can be used in combination with topical antimicrobials (e.g., benzoyl peroxide monotherapy, or benzoyl peroxide ± topical clindamycin); e.g., hormonal drugs, antibiotics, and oral isotretinoin. 2. Folliculitis: the skin will appear red and swollen bumps, accompanied by pain, with yellowish-white dots at the top. It can be treated with medications such as fusidic acid ointment and erythromycin ointment. 3. Boils: The skin will appear swollen and hard, but there is redness and pain. It can be treated by applying medicines such as ichthyol ointment, or through surgery, the boil can be cut and drained. Patients need to go to regular medical institutions in time to get a clear diagnosis and actively cooperate with specialists to avoid self-medication, which may cause adverse consequences.
