What do patients need to be aware of after a stroke?

Stroke, commonly known as “stroke”, is a type of disease that causes sudden collapse and unconsciousness, often accompanied by symptoms such as slanting of the mouth, unfavorable speech and hemiplegia. It is characterized by high morbidity, mortality, disability and recurrence rate, and has brought a heavy burden to the society, family and individual in terms of economy, life and spirit. According to statistics, the annual incidence of stroke in China is nearly 2 million, most of which are middle-aged and elderly people. With the accelerated aging of the population, its incidence and death rates are bound to increase sharply. Therefore, the research and prevention of stroke patients is undoubtedly of great importance to human health. Stroke is extremely harmful and the burden it brings to patients and their families is definitely not only the timely onset of the disease, but more importantly the long-term post-stroke care. So what should stroke patients pay attention to that? A healthy diet, strengthen nutrition The root cause of stroke is due to the body’s metabolic disorders caused by vascular disease, metabolic disorders mainly include disorders of glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism disorders, etc., which can cause cerebrovascular disease, cardiovascular disease, etc.. Therefore, we will pay attention to many stroke patients who also have diabetes and hyperlipidemia, so they need to pay more attention to their diet. Patients with stroke need to pay attention to maintain the health and nutrition of brain tissue, avoid high sugar, high fat, high cholesterol and fried foods, and eat a light and easily digestible food. Specifically, we should pay attention to: (1) high protein: fish and shrimp, beans, milk, lean meat and other foods with high protein content, but we should pay attention to some moderation, especially in gout patients. (2) high vitamin: eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. (3) low fat: such as fatty meat, animal offal, natural butter, etc. are high in animal fat and cholesterol, should be avoided as far as possible. (4) Low salt: 1.5-2.0g of salt per day, limit sodium-containing drugs and foods such as condiments, MSG, beer, soda, etc. (5) Low calories: no more than 1600-2000 kcal per day, less food and fruits containing more sugar, such as watermelon, persimmons, etc. containing high sugar. (6) Eat less stimulating food: such as chili, strong tea, strong coffee, cold drinks, alcohol, etc. (7) Drink more water, especially in summer to prevent dehydration and the occurrence of hemoconcentration, hydrate 2500-3000ml daily, choking and coughing when drinking water should be careful. In addition, do not overeat. A reasonable diet can strengthen the body’s resistance and prevent hyperlipidemia, and keep the bowels open to avoid the progress of the disease. 1. Pay attention to keep the limbs in functional position, and do passive activities on the limbs regularly every day, as well as massage, massage, acupuncture, electrotherapy and hot compress to promote blood circulation of the limbs, maintain the range of motion and function of the joints and ligaments, and prevent muscle atrophy and spasm. To prevent decubitus ulcers in hemiplegic patients, make sure the bed is flat, dry and wrinkle-free, turn over and pat the back regularly, and massage the bony prominence regularly. 2. In the early recovery period, the patient should get out of bed and sit on a chair every day, with both feet on the ground and both knees and hips flexed, and help the patient stand for several times, gradually increasing over time. Take the patient to outdoor activities to make the patient feel confident about life, and also exercise walking with a cane, and gradually move on to stair training. 3. For patients with aphasia or speech disorders, start with simple words and sentences for language training, such as “ah”, “eat”, “drink”, “urinate”, etc. and address people. “etc. and address people. So that patients gradually learn to express their requirements, encourage patients to speak more live, be wary of patients lazy words or simple gestures, to be diligent training, patients will gradually improve to be able to simple pairs of words, which will make aphasic patients partially restore language function. Regular activities to exercise the tongue muscles also help the recovery of aphasia, aphasia after the improvement and then training speech, reading and other advanced language functions. Third, keep a relaxed mood, smile life After the stroke left different degrees of complications, physical “disability” often lead to psychological “disease”, stroke patients often produce low self-esteem, have a negative psychology. One of the reasons for this is the physical dysfunction of stroke, such as hemiplegic aphasia, which makes it difficult to communicate effectively with others, and the inability to take care of oneself, which may lead to depression. Patients may experience personality changes. The former is more common in stroke patients. Patients who are not in a comfortable mood are likely to become irritable and even lose their temper, which often brings a great burden to the family and also makes the patient’s own blood pressure rise, aggravating the condition. At this time, family members should take the initiative to care for the patient, teach the patient simple dumb language, and gradually establish effective communication, while focusing on the ideological guidance of the patient, encouraging the patient to go out bravely and communicate with others. Families who are busy at work are advised to make use of hospital resources to create conditions for patients to participate in health education and patient meetings organized by the hospital, so that patients can gradually adapt to society, positive life and build confidence to overcome the disease. Fourth, to prevent colds, pay attention to the combination of work and rest The room should be quiet and comfortable, keep the air fresh and ventilate regularly. Sunlight should be sufficient, go out to the sun more often, and the temperature should be 18~20℃. Humidity should be 40% to 50%. Try to go to public places as little as possible, and pay attention to keeping warm in winter to prevent getting cold. In summer, pay attention to the heat and avoid air conditioning syndrome. Because cold can cause systemic vasoconstriction, which can lead to increased blood pressure and aggravate the progress of the disease. Overheating can also lead to vasodilation and increased sweat secretion, which can lead to insufficient blood supply to the brain and insufficient nutrition, and the same can aggravate the disease progression. Patients should, under the guidance of physicians, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, such as exercise time should not be too long and tired, regular rest and rest, ensure sufficient rest and sleep, avoid overwork, should not carry out excessive physical activities and exercise, to abstain from sex, after complete recovery of the disease can be appropriate sports activities, but in a gradual manner. Five, according to medical advice regular medication medication is essential to control the development of the disease and prevent the recurrence of stroke, many patients think that the stroke can not recover from the limb disorder, they lose confidence in the drug. The most serious consequence is the progression of the disease and the recurrence of the stroke. The second stroke is often more serious than the first and is often fatal. Commonly used medications are aspirin and drugs to control blood sugar and blood pressure. Therefore, patients should adhere to regular and regular medication under the guidance of their physicians. Those who are able to do so are encouraged to visit their primary care physician regularly and learn to self-monitor their blood pressure and blood sugar. In general, the best time for stroke patients to come to the hospital for review is once every 3-6 months when their condition is stable. The items to be reviewed include blood sugar, blood pressure, blood lipid, liver and kidney function, blood routine, head CT (preferably MRI if available), limb and speech recovery, and psychological function. However, it should be noted that the above items should be reviewed selectively once a month at the beginning of the disease, and further treatment and nursing guidance should be made according to the condition, and the condition can be checked once every three to six months if there is no obvious change, and normal life and work can be resumed gradually after the condition is fully recovered. Practice has proved that stroke is not terrible, what is terrible is to be beaten by stroke. As long as we physicians, patients and their families, and the society act at the same time, pay attention to stroke patients, pay attention to them ideologically, and act actively, I believe we will definitely overcome stroke, one of the demons that threaten human health.
