A common disease called plasma cell disease, such as multiple myeloma light chain type, is a subtype of multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell malignancy that produces and secretes large amounts of monoclonal immunoglobulins due to disordered cloning of plasma cells. Among them, immunoglobulins have two heavy chains and two light chains, and the light chains, due to their small molecular weight, can pass through the glomerulus and finally reabsorb in the renal tubules leading to renal tubular damage and eventually causing renal changes. Therefore, the most common disease with high urinary light chains is multiple myeloma light chain type. Since light chain disease can cause significant damage to the glomerulus. Therefore, the light chain type is the type of multiple myeloma with a poor prognosis, and for treatment commonly used drugs include bortezomib, lenalidomide, and thalidomide. However, the survival period of patients with light chain type is shorter than that of the common type of multiple myeloma due to renal impairment.
