Where is the groin

The location of the groin is the medial part of the root of the thigh, and the groin is an area that connects the thigh to the abdomen. The exact location of the groin can be determined by the connecting line method, where a horizontal line can be drawn along the anterior superior iliac spine toward the rectus abdominis muscle, and at the midpoint of this horizontal line is the location of the groin. The ligament inside the groin is called the inguinal ligament and plays an important role in preventing bulging organs in the abdominal cavity. In some people, due to the weakness of the inguinal ligament, the organs in the abdominal cavity may bulge out of the groin during force or coughing, called inguinal hernia, which is very common in clinical practice. Surgical treatment of inguinal hernias is usually performed by repairing the inguinal ligament to prevent and treat the re-expansion of the intra-abdominal organs.
