Non-pharmacological treatment of GERD maintenance

GERD is defined as the discomfort and/or histological changes caused by the reflux of gastroduodenal contents into the esophagus, with typical symptoms of heartburn, reflux, and already retrosternal discomfort, often affecting the quality of life.
Non-pharmacological treatment is the basis for the maintenance of gastroesophageal reflux disease
  1.Rational diet
  (1) avoid eating too much, very critical, a small number of meals, more meals should not be overdone, too much dinner, obviously inappropriate, and no more food 3 hours before bedtime.
  (2) Avoid foods that can induce reflux: such as those with a high nightlife, control the amount of coffee, chocolate, spicy or acidic foods, high-fat diet. (b) If the symptoms are severe must quit smoking and alcohol.
  (3) After meals and reflux can drink moderate amounts of warm and cool boiled water to reduce the damage of reflux on the gastroesophageal mucosa.
  2.Physical posture: correct lying position
  (1) should not lie down immediately after meals, preferably in an upright or semi-recumbent position.
  (2) elevate the head of the bed 18-25cm when sleeping, of course, padding the shoulders and neck to avoid falling on the pillow, lifting the whole from the slope position of the low back, only the pillow is not effective.
3, reduce the factors that can easily lead to increased abdominal pressure
  (1) appropriate weight control.
  (2) dress loosely, avoid tight girdles, lifting heavy objects.
  (3) keep the bowels open.
  4.Aerobic exercise, targeted training
Diaphragm biofeedback training: fasting or 2 hours after a meal, abdominal breathing instead of chest breathing, nose inhalation when the abdominal muscles are tense, the stomach bulge hard, for 3-10 seconds, mouth exhalation when the abdominal muscles and the whole body relaxed, the stomach deflated. Training, you can put your hands on the abdomen, feel the rise and fall of the abdomen. Training 1-2 times a day, 15-20 minutes each time.
Chinese acupuncture point massage: massage Neiguan and foot Sanli, alternating between the two sides, with moderate intensity, for 5-10 minutes.
  Conventional drug treatment
Gastric acid inhibiting drugs: It is the treatment of choice for GERD, with a course of at least 6-8 weeks, clinically available omeprazole/lansoprazole/pantoprazole/rebeprazole/esomeprazole, etc.
Pro-gastrointestinal motility drugs: new itopride has been traditional domperidone, mosapride, etc.
Mucosal protective and antacid agents: aluminum magnesium plus suspension as well as aluminum magnesium carbonate chewable tablets, sodium bicarbonate, aluminum hydroxide and Metzolim, etc.
