If you have taken Levofloxacin Hydrochloride within 23 days of pregnancy, you can have this baby if spontaneous miscarriage has not occurred, but you should watch closely for signs of miscarriage and go to the hospital for regular pregnancy tests.
Levofloxacin hydrochloride is a quinolone antibiotic and is a prohibited drug for pregnant women. However, if you take this drug within 23 days of pregnancy, the effect on the fetus is “all” or “none” because it is taken before or after the fertilization of the egg.
1. “All”. By “all”, we mean that the drug has a serious effect on the embryo, such as causing a chromosomal abnormality in the embryo. This situation usually then leads to early death of the embryo, so there is a possibility of spontaneous abortion. If spontaneous abortion occurs after taking the drug, or if the embryo stops, the pregnancy needs to be terminated as soon as possible.
2. “None”. The word “none” here refers to the fact that the drug did not cause any adverse effects on the embryo, or the effects were so minimal that the embryo will continue to develop and spontaneous abortion or embryonic sterilizations will not occur. If this is the case, the child can be had, but pregnancy tests should be done during pregnancy.
