The normal age of menopause for women is between 45 and 55 years old. The age at which a woman’s menopause occurs varies greatly from one individual to another, and is also affected by the environment, physical condition, dietary habits and lifestyle, so there is no specific age to judge. Most women between the ages of 45 and 55 will experience irregular menstruation or menopause because of the gradual decline in ovarian function and estrogen secretion, which is insufficient to maintain normal menstrual flow. During this stage, women may also experience other uncomfortable symptoms, such as heartburn and insomnia. Some women who stop menstruating before the age of 40 may suffer from premature ovarian failure, and it is best to go to the hospital and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
