Tao Ren Hong Hua Decoction is a formula from Chen Suan Gynecological Tonic, consisting of Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Aromaticus, Yan Hu Suo, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Chuan Xiong, Lactuca Lactiflora, Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Qing Pi and Sheng Di. It is a formula used to treat women with blood stasis irregular menstruation with spasmodic pain in the small abdomen during attacks, and has the effect of invigorating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and moving Qi to relieve pain. According to the drug composition of this formula the current scope of its treatment can be expanded. This formula is made from the classical formula for invigorating blood circulation and resolving blood stasis, Peach and Red Four Objects Tang with addition of Xiang Shen, Yan Hu Suo, Qing Pi and Frankincense. Therefore, it can be clinically applied to all diseases consistent with Qi stagnation and Blood stasis, such as bruised headache, memory loss, bruised angina pectoris of coronary heart disease, bruised back pain and cerebral infarction.
