The most common disease associated with many small fleshy growths in the armpits is dermatophytosis. Dermatomes are benign skin swellings that usually have a tip attached to the skin. It is about the size of a grain of corn or bean, with a smooth surface, and the patient does not feel pain or itching. The scientific name is also called dermatofibroma, which may be related to the patient’s obesity or local friction stimulation. Treatment is relatively simple, and can be removed by laser or ionization. Large ones may require anesthesia and then be removed by physical means after anesthesia. After removal, the patient may need to apply anti-bacterial infection medication such as fusidic acid cream locally, and may have 3-5 days to recover.
