Concussion is a transient disturbance of consciousness or blurring that occurs immediately after head trauma. In our clinical practice, the diagnosis is based on: 1. a clear history of head trauma. 2. Transient impairment of consciousness (usually less than half an hour) and retrograde amnesia. 3. No abnormal signs on neurological examination. In addition, this syndrome can be differentiated from mild cerebral contusion by lumbar puncture examination and CT or MRI examination. Treatment: 1. The patient can be kept in the emergency room for 24-48h after the injury to exclude the coexistence of cerebral contusion and intracranial hematoma. 2.In the acute stage, bed rest for 1 to 2 weeks is preferable to reduce cerebral activity. 3, symptomatic treatment, such as giving drugs to improve neurometabolism. 4.Psychotherapy to enhance confidence in recovery. 5.Some people have long-term conscious symptoms for various reasons. If the conscious symptoms persist for more than 3 months after treatment, and there are no positive features of the nervous system and no abnormal findings, the diagnosis of “post-traumatic brain injury syndrome” can be made.
