Is a concussion, a brain injury that is particularly feared by the average person, really that scary? Concussion is a transient brain dysfunction that occurs immediately after a blow to the head from an external force. There is no obvious change in pathological changes, clinical manifestations are transient coma, near-event amnesia and symptoms such as headache, nausea and vomiting, and no positive signs are found in neurological examination. It is the mildest type of brain injury and can be mostly cured with treatment.
