My child has kidney disease, what can I do?

When our child was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), it was like a thunderbolt, all the medical terms came to us like a big stone and we couldn’t catch our breath, what should we do? Anxiety hits us like a tidal wave, and the endless worrying prevents us from doing anything. As a result we feel tired, insomnia, inability to eat, irritability, inability to do anything, and even some of us need alcohol or drugs to adjust ourselves. As a parent of a child with this kind of journey, I understand it very well, but don’t forget that when you fall down, your child is the one who has no hope, and only when we face it positively and cooperate with the doctors calmly can we bring back the health of the child. In the face of this sudden and tremendous pressure how can we make ourselves stand up straight and not get down? As a counselor, I have compiled such a list for you: 1. Make a list and write down the people who can help you, ask them to take care of the child when you can’t face the child with positive emotions, and you can go for a walk, play sports or other ways to relax to relieve the bad emotions. 2. Do not repeatedly discuss the disease in front of the child, blame the child, or restrict the child’s normal activities, as these negative emotions may affect the child’s physical and mental development. 3. Do what you can. No parent is perfect, especially one who has to take care of a sick child. You have to believe in yourself and lead your child to actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment plan, so that the child can be full of hope. 4.Set feasible goals. You have to organize your daily routine and regularize it. This way you can rationalize your time and get enough rest for your body to have the mood and stamina to take care of your sick child. 5.You can look for mutual help public welfare groups in the community or hospitals designed for families with chronic kidney disease. There will be many families with similar experiences, so you can share your feelings with them, your experience in taking care of your child, and you can also tell them your worries and support each other. 6.Develop a personal health plan. Sleep well, eat well, and exercise often. Your health will give you the energy to continue caring for your child. 7, If you find that you continue to have a hard time dealing with these stresses, it is recommended that you seek out a professional counselor. Focus Parents are the child’s dependence, only they can calmly deal with sudden problems, in order to let the child feel at ease with the treatment, chronic disease itself requires long-term resistance, the parents’ attitude determines the child’s attitude, we have to make concerted efforts to do a good job with the doctor to cooperate, the child’s body will certainly be healthy day by day.
