Implement effective contraception after abortion to avoid repeat abortions

Repeated abortions within 1 year, especially within 6 months, are the most dangerous and high risk abortions! The World Health Organization recommends that after a spontaneous or induced abortion, at least 6 months should elapse before the next pregnancy to reduce the risk of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. Most women mistakenly believe that they will not get pregnant soon after an abortion, which is completely wrong. Ovulation can resume two weeks after miscarriage and another pregnancy is possible before the first menstrual period resumes. Therefore, it is important to implement contraception immediately after abortion. Findings show that failure to use contraception and contraceptive failure are the main causes of abortion. The use of condoms, safe periods and in vitro ejaculation and emergency contraceptive pills were the main methods leading to contraceptive failure. Short-acting oral contraceptive pills taken on the day of surgical abortion are beneficial for post-abortion recovery, protection of reproductive function, reduction of uterine adhesions, establishment of regular menstruation, and efficient implementation of contraception. Therefore, choosing a reliable and efficient contraceptive method after abortion is the key to post-abortion contraception.
