Breastfeeding is a special physiological period, and good breast health care during breastfeeding is of great significance to the health of mothers and wives. Breastfeeding mothers need to pay special attention to some of the following breast health issues. (1) Lactating mothers should ensure adequate nutrition to meet the physiological needs of mothers and infants, otherwise it may result in less milk, lack of milk and affect the growth and development of infants; it may also cause excessive fat consumption in the mother’s body, the body wasting, and later cause breast atrophy. (2) Mothers should maintain a good mental state during breastfeeding, be in a happy mood, live a regular life, and get enough sleep to avoid the effects of various mental stimuli and bad emotions that may cause poor secretion and excretion of milk. (3) When breastfeeding, empty the milk as much as possible, if the baby cannot completely empty the milk, use a breast pump to suck it up to avoid the accumulation of milk, otherwise it will easily cause bacterial infection and lead to acute mastitis. (4) When breastfeeding, alternate breastfeeding between the left and right sides to avoid asymmetrical breast shape due to excessive feeding on one side. (5) Pay attention to health care while breastfeeding to avoid acute inflammation of the breast caused by accumulation of breast milk, trauma, and nipple bite by the breast child; breastfeeding mothers should avoid exposure to toxic substances such as benzene, lead, mercury, and favorable substances, as well as various radioactive substances such as X-rays and isotopes; be cautious in using or not using various drugs. (6) During breastfeeding, soft cotton bras should be worn, because breast enlargement during breastfeeding is easy to sag by gravity, so bras can play a certain role in fixing and holding up, thus preventing breast sagging; using cotton bras can prevent fiber dust particles of chemical fiber fabrics from entering the breast ducts, so as to avoid the resulting disorders of milk secretion and excretion. (7) Do not breastfeed for more than one year to avoid suppression of ovarian function due to prolonged breastfeeding, resulting in excessive atrophy and degeneration of the mammary glands and a reduced sex drive.
