Cardiac Class II refers to the second level of heart function and represents the severity of heart failure. Heart Function Class II indicates that a heart failure patient will experience significant discomfort such as chest tightness and shortness of breath after performing slightly heavy physical activity.
The severity of heart failure can be categorized into four levels according to the American College of Cardiology’s Heart Function Classification. Grade 1 heart failure means that the patient’s daily activities are not limited and will not cause symptoms of heart failure such as fatigue and dyspnea.
Grade II refers to the patient’s daily activities will be limited to a certain extent, usually rest does not have any obvious symptoms, but after some slightly heavier physical activities, such as folding the quilt, cleaning, etc., may cause chest tightness, shortness of breath and other symptoms of heart failure.
If the patient is not treated in time, the condition is likely to worsen and escalate from Grade 2 to Grade 3 or 4, which may even be life-threatening in severe cases. Therefore, if the patient is in the stage of cardiac function class II, then it is necessary to actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment to promote the recovery of the disease.
