The survival period of tongue cancer is related to the staging and grading of tongue cancer, treatment and the patient’s physical condition, etc. The exact time varies from person to person. Tongue cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the oral cavity and is a kind of squamous cell carcinoma, generally more common in men than women. In early stage, after timely surgery to remove the lesion and surrounding lymph nodes, together with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the survival rate of tongue cancer can reach 80%-90% in 5 years. When tongue cancer is in the middle and late stage and metastasis occurs, such as lymph node metastasis, the 5-year survival rate can be reduced to 50%-60%. Through surgical resection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted cell therapy and interventional therapy, the survival period can be extended appropriately, but it also needs to be analyzed according to the patient’s own situation and there are individual differences. During the treatment period of tongue cancer patients, it is recommended to develop a good lifestyle, regular work and rest, preferably a light, high-protein diet, and pay attention to oral care, quit smoking and limit alcohol.
