Skin tumor refers to various benign and malignant tumors occurring in the skin, which can be divided into benign skin tumors such as pigmented nevus, warty nevus, sebaceous cysts, sweat gland adenoma, dermatoid cysts, and malignant skin tumors such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, etc. Symptoms of different skin tumors are different.
1. Benign skin tumors
(1) Pigmented nevus: the skin lesions are black, dark brown, light brown spots or macules, with sizes ranging from several millimeters to several centimeters, mostly ovoid and with smooth surface.
(2) Verrucous nevus: mainly manifested as yellowish to brownish-black verrucous papules with keratinized surface, which are relatively rough and hard to touch.
(3) Sebaceous cysts: commonly found on the face with abundant sebaceous glands, as small as beans and as large as small citrus-like, the cysts present as round, located in the skin and protruding towards the skin surface.
(4) Sweat gland adenoma: it is found in the sweat glands of labia majora and perineum of women, and it is a well-defined nodule that elevates the surrounding skin, and its diameter is usually less than 1 cm.
(5) Dermatoid cysts: present at birth, manifested as a single hard subcutaneous nodule, preferably occurring in the oral cavity and near the face, with hemispherical elevation.
2. Malignant skin tumor:
(1) Basal cell carcinoma: typical skin lesions are hemispherical, waxy or translucent papules and nodules, and superficial erosion and ulcer can be formed on the surface.
(2) Squamous cell carcinoma: it occurs in sun-damaged areas such as scalp and face and neck, and is erythematous keratinized papule.
(3) Malignant melanoma: manifested as asymmetric moles, unsmooth, irregular edges, dirty surface and color change.
