What causes platelet drop

The causes of platelet drop are usually infections, caused by taking medications, and blood system diseases.
1. Infection: Viral infection may lead to thrombocytopenia in human body, for example, rubella virus infection will lead to platelet drop.
2. Drugs: Since some drugs can inhibit the overall hematopoietic function of bone marrow or selectively inhibit the bone marrow megakaryocytes, the application of certain drugs can also cause thrombocytopenia, such as rifampicin, sulfonamides, heparin and so on.
3. Blood system diseases: the most common are primary immune thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, leukemia and so on, all of which can cause platelet count decline.
There are many reasons for platelet drop, and it is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals for examination to clarify the specific causes, so that targeted prevention and treatment can be carried out. Normally, it is also necessary to increase some physical exercise to improve immunity.
