What’s wrong with small grains of flesh on the nipples?

There are two types of small fleshy bumps on the nipples: one is a physiological cause; the other is a pathological cause. Physiological causes can be seen in women who are pregnant. Due to the enlargement of the breasts and the expansion of the end of the milk ducts after pregnancy, small pulpy bumps can form on the surface of the nipples. There is also a blockage of the sebaceous ducts on the surface of the nipples, which prevents the normal drainage of sebum, resulting in the formation of small granular bumps. Small physiological grains on the nipples do not require special treatment, and most of them can fade away naturally. Pathological patients can see soft fibroids in the nipple area, also called dermatomes, which are more common benign tumors on the body surface and can be treated by laser or freezing. It may also be caused by inflammation of the nipple or the milk duct, which can be cured by disinfecting the nipple with iodophor and applying antibiotic cream, along with hot compresses. Patients should be careful not to squeeze the nipple to prevent the spread of infection.
