The average person has an IQ of about 100, and about 68.2% of the population has an IQ between 85 and 115, with the range conforming to a standard normal distribution. Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is the total score obtained by a subject in a standardized test that evaluates human intelligence (e.g., the Binet-Simon Scale, Wechsler Intelligence Test), reflecting the subject’s level of intellectual development at his or her age, and researchers have set the IQ value of 100 as the average intelligence quotient (IQ), which is set by human beings so that an average human being has an IQ of about 100. IQ tests are influenced by many factors, and IQ values vary between two tests for the same person as age, weight, physical state, family, environment, and various other factors change. As a matter of fact, the IQ value is only used as an aid for reference for relevant staff in education, healthcare and the workplace, and cannot accurately and comprehensively describe a person’s true level of intelligence. It is not an accurate and comprehensive description of a person’s true intelligence level, and should not be taken too seriously by ordinary people with good social functioning.
