The formula is incorrectly written as Yin Yang Seal Marrow Dan, and correctly as Yin Yang Seal Marrow Dan, a Chinese herbal formula with the effects of strengthening the middle jiao, clearing the upper and warming the lower, and harmonizing water, fire, yin and yang. The formula is composed of Chinese medicines such as Sand nut, Huang Bai, Radix Phellodendron Bidentatae, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, and so on. It has the efficacy of strengthening the transportation of the middle Jiao, clearing the upper part of the body and warming the lower part of the body, and harmonizing the water and fire, yin and yang. Submerged Yang Sealing Marrow Dan is not currently approved for manufacture and sale as a proprietary Chinese medicine, but is simply a classic Chinese medicine prescription. The formula consists of a combination of Submerged Yang Dan and Sealed Marrow Dan with additions and subtractions, and later medical practitioners referred to the two formulas together as Submerged Yang Sealed Marrow Dan. The formula consists of four herbs, i.e., Sandalwood, Goujia, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae.
