Contraindications and relative contraindications to testosterone supplementation therapy

  The aim of testosterone supplementation therapy is to restore normal physiological testosterone levels in male patients with low serum testosterone levels and symptoms related to androgen deficiency, with the treatment aiming to improve life therapy, sexual function and muscle strength. The indications for testosterone supplementation should be mastered, and the contraindications should be noted for certain specific groups.  Absolute contraindications: Patients with erythrocytosis. Patients with untreated severe sleep apnea syndrome. Patients with severe cardiac or hepatic failure.  Relative contraindications: Patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia with severe lower urinary tract obstruction. Patients at high risk of developing prostate cancer.
