Migraine and tension-type headache are both common clinical diseases. According to the International Classification of Headache Disorders, Second Edition (ICHD-II) (new edition) released by the International Headache Society (IHS) in February 2004, they both belong to primary headache, but their definition, etiology, diagnosis and treatment are different and should be differentiated.
