How to prevent cancer

1. Quit Smoking The importance of quitting smoking cannot be overemphasized. Smoking can lead to lung, mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreatic, kidney, bladder and cervical cancer (see so many “cancer” words, do not immediately pinch the cigarette in your mouth?) What’s worse, these effects, and not just for individuals who smoke, as long as there is a person smoking, around the family, friends to follow the second-hand smoke, third-hand smoke, for their own health and the health of those around you, try to quit smoking. 2.Don’t be too fat Don’t be too fat. One of the facts that must be faced is that fat people are indeed more prone to cancer. So what is considered a reasonable weight? Careful you may have noticed that Dr. Ding Xiang has repeatedly emphasized a concept – body mass index (BMI), which can help us determine whether we are obese or overweight. BMI = weight (kg) / height (m) squared BMI: <18.5 underweight BMI: 18.5 to 23.9 normal weight BMI: 24 to 27.9 overweight BMI: ≥28 obese In order to reduce the risk of cancer, you fat people should ensure nutrition, scientific weight loss, and strive to control their weight within a reasonable range. 3.Healthy eating As the saying goes, disease comes from the mouth, and cancer is no exception. Simply speaking, eating more vegetables and fruits, less red meat (pork, beef, sheep) and meat products can effectively reduce the risk of cancer. However, a pure vegetarian diet is not advocated either. Meat (especially lean meat) is the main source of high-quality protein, and we can eat some poultry and fish to ensure a balanced nutrition. However, there are no studies to figure out why diet affects the occurrence of cancer, only that the vitamins, antioxidants and fiber in vegetables and fruits can bring significant benefits and reduce the risk of cancer. But! Vitamins, antioxidants and fiber consumed through dietary supplements (such as vitamin E pills) do not have anti-cancer effects, so you should never believe that any supplements can prevent or even cure cancer, this really can't! Regarding exercise, let's look at two studies first! A study involving 1.44 million people showed that exercise can reduce the incidence of 13 types of cancer, including the most common ones, liver cancer (27% risk reduction), lung cancer (26%), colon cancer (16%), and breast cancer (10%). Another study found that exercise mobilizes the body's immune cells to kill cancer cells, enhancing the ability to fight cancer. What is considered exercise and how much exercise is enough? The American Cancer Society recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of high-intensity exercise per week. Medium-intensity exercise: brisk walking, running, dancing, cycling, etc. High-intensity exercise: soccer, basketball, etc. Alcohol has long been recognized as a class I carcinogen by the World Health Organization. If you think it's unrealistic to quit drinking completely, at least we can limit the amount of alcohol we drink to a safe enough range. The American Cancer Society has determined that men should consume a maximum of two servings of alcohol per day, while women should not consume more than one serving per day. One serving of wine is equivalent to a can of beer (330mL) or a glass of red wine (140mL) or a cup of 40-degree white wine (40mL) and the rumored effect of "drinking wine can activate blood vessels and strengthen the body", so far, no study can give clear evidence, so it is recommended that we do not expect to rely on drinking to strengthen the body. In this way, it seems that cancer prevention is not as difficult as you think, you don't need to spend too much money or use complicated equipment, just maintain a healthy lifestyle can help a lot!
