Whether highly differentiated squamous esophageal cancer is prone to recurrence is related to the stage of the disease. If it is in the early stage, it is usually not prone to recurrence. If it is in middle or late stage, the chance of recurrence is higher. The most common pathological type of esophageal cancer is squamous cell carcinoma, which can be divided into three types: highly differentiated, moderately differentiated and poorly differentiated. Generally speaking, the higher the degree of differentiation of the cancer, the lower the degree of malignancy and the weaker the invasiveness. Early stage highly differentiated squamous esophageal cancer has less chance of lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis through timely treatment, and is not easy to recur. However, if it is middle or late stage highly differentiated squamous esophageal cancer, it is more difficult to be treated at this time, and even if it is successfully cured, there is still a possibility of recurrence after surgery, and the chance of recurrence is significantly higher. It is suggested that patients should actively cooperate with doctors to carry out standardized treatment and regular review after treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
