The need for rhinitis to be photographed depends on the characteristics of rhinitis and cannot be clinically generalized. In the first case, if it is allergic rhinitis, which is mainly induced by the local metamorphosis of the nasal cavity, clinically it can be done without films, but of course if allergic rhinitis is suspected to be accompanied by nasal polyps or sinusitis, it is also necessary to take films to see the severity of the lesion. In the second case, if chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, long-term medication does not work and clinical examination reveals enlargement of the inferior turbinates, CT examination of the nose is needed to determine whether there is osteophyte hypertrophy of the inferior turbinates and the degree of hypertrophy, and to decide whether surgery is clinically relevant. In the third case, if it is atrophic rhinitis, dry rhinitis, etc., the main lesion is the state of the nasal mucosa, it can be done without taking pictures. In conclusion, whether or not rhinitis is necessary to take a film depends on the patient’s lesion and whether or not it is considered to be involved as sinusitis, etc. to decide.
