The approximate number of days to recover from a knee release surgery

After knee arthroplasty, joint mobility is gradually restored within one to two weeks, and full recovery usually takes about three months. Rehabilitation exercises can be started 24 hours after surgery. The main mechanism of knee arthroplasty is to repair the abnormal muscles or ligaments formed around the knee joint, as well as the abnormal contracture soft tissues, so as to alleviate the symptoms of knee joint stiffness and achieve the goal of normal knee joint movement. Functional rehabilitation training should be carried out in a timely manner after the knee joint release surgery. Usually, the range of motion of the knee joint can be restored more significantly after one to two weeks, but it may take about three months to reach the normal range. If the training is not sufficient, knee adhesions may reoccur, thus affecting the mobility of the knee joint and leading to stiffness, adhesions, and unfavorable joint pain and other complications.
