Pain in the area of the appendix, if not appendicitis, can also be inflammation of the appendix. In patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, these chronic inflammatory diseases of the intestine can also manifest as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, which can usually be clearly diagnosed by performing a barium inertia or colonoscopy of the gastrointestinal tract. Patients with recurrent abdominal pain and related symptoms should be treated systematically to prevent related complications, and patients with ulcerative colitis should be given oral immunosuppressants and aminosalicylic acid preparations. Tumors in the ileocecal region can also present with symptoms similar to right lower abdominal pain requiring vigilance, and colonoscopy can further detect neoplastic or occupying lesions in the intestine. This disease also needs to be differentiated from appendicitis, as surgical treatment is also required if necessary.
