Shunlap refers to montelukast sodium chewable tablets, a leukotriene inhibitor that inhibits inflammatory cells such as mast cells. Secretion of leukotriene inflammatory substances, thereby reducing airway hyperresponsiveness. It is indicated for the prophylactic and long-term treatment of asthma in children and adults 2 years of age or older, including the prevention of daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms, the treatment of asthmatics who are sensitive to aspirin and the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, which is more effective. It is also effective in reducing symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and allergic rhinitis. It is generally recommended for use in children over 2 years of age, once/day, and it is generally recommended that chewable montelukast sodium tablets be chewed half an hour before bedtime, with the exact dosage to be calculated according to the instructions based on the patient’s age and weight.
