For nasal mucus, we should distinguish whether it is clear or pus. If it is clear, some patients will have combined itchy nose and sneezing, they can take oral antihistamine, such as loratadine, for 1-2 weeks, and can increase the use of nasal spray hormone, such as fluticasone propionate, and treat for 1 week to see if there is any effect. If the nasal discharge is purulent and the duration of the disease is more than 1 month, you can take clarithromycin orally and increase the use of nasal spray hormone, such as fluticasone propionate, and also use nasal astringent drugs, such as ephedrine nasal drops or hydroxymetazoline nasal spray, and these two drugs should not be used continuously for more than 1 week. Both drugs should be used for 2 weeks to see the effect. If the effect is not good, nasal endoscopy and sinus CT scan are needed to clarify the diagnosis.
