Vaginal plugs

The vaginal plug is used as follows: the patient chooses a squatting position, washes her hands and vulva, and then puts sterile gloves on the woman’s index finger, either left or right handed. The medication is inserted into the vaginal opening and the woman’s index finger is used to push the medication deeper into the vagina, usually with the index finger fully in place. It is best for the patient to lie down after the medication is inserted, so it is best to use it before bedtime. If the patient chooses to lie down, the medication is less likely to come out of the vagina by gravity and is more effective. If the patient has more drug residue during the medication, it is not easy to flow out. In this case, the patient can use a douche to flush out the drug residue and excessive leucorrhea from the vagina before inserting the medication, which will be more effective.
