What is the cure rate for bladder tumors

The cure rate of bladder tumors is generally expressed by survival rate, which is related to pathological type and stage, etc. The 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rates of bladder cancer patients are 95.12%, 82.14%, and 63.12%, respectively; while most of the benign tumors can be clinically cured after treatment. Bladder tumors contain benign and malignant tumors, of which malignant tumors are more common. For benign tumors, surgical resection is usually given, and some patients need to be treated with combined bladder perfusion, which can usually be cured after standardized treatment. A domestic study reported that no tumor recurrence, cancer or metastasis occurred in the follow-up of this group (46 patients). For the malignant tumor of bladder, i.e. bladder cancer, which is the malignant tumor with the highest incidence rate in the urinary system, its prognosis is related to the pathological type, stage, patient’s own situation (age, smoking history, etc.), and treatment plan. At present, the treatment of bladder cancer is mainly based on surgery, especially for muscle invasive bladder tumors, total cystectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection is often used in clinic, supplemented with various treatment options such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but still 50% to 70% of patients recur within 5 years after surgery. Some domestic studies claimed that the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival rates of bladder cancer patients are 95.12%, 82.14% and 63.12% respectively, while others claimed that the 5-year overall survival rate of bladder cancer patients is 55.4%. If bladder tumor is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals for comprehensive assessment of the condition, follow the doctor’s instructions to cooperate with the treatment, and choose the appropriate treatment plan to avoid delaying the condition.
