How Dental Fluorosis Forms

Dental fluorosis is a disease of the dental tissues caused by excessive fluoride ingestion into the enamel during development.
1. Dental fluorosis is a non-caries disease of the hard tissues of the teeth and is the most common symptom in the early stages of chronic fluorosis. The main cause is excessive fluoride intake from the environment through drinking water during dental development (children under 8 years old), which can lead to enamel mineralization, or hypoplasia, enamel polymilitic hyperplasia, and the formation of dental defects.
2. The key to preventing dental fluorosis is to avoid excessive fluoride intake before the age of 6~7 years. For already formed dental fluorosis, it can be treated by composite resin restoration, porcelain veneer, crown restoration and other methods.
Dental fluorosis focuses on prevention, and for those that have already formed, it is important to consult a doctor in time for treatment under the guidance of a physician.
