Is general anesthesia required for uterine polyp surgery?

Uterine polyp surgery does not necessarily require general anesthesia. At present, most hysteroscopies, once uterine polyps are detected, are usually removed directly under hysteroscopy with electric knife for disseminated, single, well-formed polyps. For small focal or diffuse uterine polyps, a full curettage is required, which usually requires full scraping, especially at the uterine fundus or uterine horns, which usually requires general anesthesia. For uterine polyps, early detection and treatment is recommended because they are prone to cancer. Therefore, even though the damage to the body caused by general anesthesia is much less than the damage to the body caused by uterine polyps. Therefore, early curettage is recommended when scraping is necessary.
