What’s with the sore tongue?

Sourness of the tongue is usually caused by liver-stomach disharmony (disharmony between the ascending function of the liver and the descending function of the stomach), eating too much, excessive secretion of gastric acid, and dampness in the stomach, and one should consult a doctor to find out the cause of the disease in a timely manner.
1. Liver-stomach disharmony: Liver qi stagnation (poor qi and blood transportation of the liver, emotional depression), irregular drainage, resulting in gastric disharmony (obstruction of the stomach’s function of ventilation and descent). Symptoms such as belching (hiccups), acid swallowing (swallowing the acid in the stomach that rushes up to the oropharynx), fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, nausea, and tai yi are manifested.
2. Eating too much: when the spleen and stomach have insufficient or poor digestive ability, the food will be stagnant in the stomach, and after a long time, belching and acid swallowing will occur, with the symptom of sour tongue.
3. Excessive secretion of gastric acid: If the secretion of gastric acid is too much, when we burp, it will return directly to the mouth, and when the tongue comes into contact with the returned gastric acid, the tongue will have a self-conscious feeling of acidity.
4. Dampness in the stomach: Excessive dampness in the stomach will directly cause the accumulation of food in the stomach, weakening of the digestive function, and even the dysfunction of the stomach, which will result in the excessive secretion of gastric acid, causing the symptom of a sour tongue.
If you find a sour tongue, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to clarify the cause of the disease and then give targeted treatment.
