The occult penis is a common congenital developmental abnormality and deformity, which is different from pediatric circumcision or prepuce. Never mistake occult penis for prepuce and circumcision by mistake.
The features of occult penis are that the flesh membrane of the penis is poorly developed, the skin of the penis is not attached to the penis body, the skin of the penis body is short and the foreskin cavity is narrow, and the penis body cannot enter the skin and foreskin cavity. The penis is concealed under the skin in front of the pubic symphysis. The penis can be revealed by pushing the skin around the penis backward with the hand. The inner plate of the foreskin of the occult penis is abundant, and the foreskin looks like a beak wrapped around the penis, not attached to the penis body, short dorsally and long ventrally, with more inner plates and less outer plates. In obese children, the accumulation of fat in front of the pubic bone can aggravate the condition of occult penis.
If the occult penis is misdiagnosed as prepuce and circumcision is performed, it will cause the foreskin to be too short and the appearance will be even less desirable.
