Megaloblastic anemia is an anemia caused by major folic acid or vitamin B₁₂ deficiency. Currently, folic acid and vitamin B₁₂ supplementation is the main treatment.
Clinical patients with anemia can be tested for iron, folic acid and vitamin B₁₂ to distinguish the specific cause of anemia. Once megaloblastic anemia is identified, the treatment mainly includes the following aspects:
1. Treatment of etiology: common causes include insufficient intake (picky eating, partiality, low meat and vegetable intake), absorption obstacles (such as chronic gastritis, massive gastric ulcer, gastric surgery after resection, etc.), timely treatment and correction of these causes in order to treat megaloblastic anemia at the root of the disease.
2. Supplementation of hematopoietic raw materials: the demand for hematopoietic raw materials increases during the growth period of children or adolescents, pregnancy or lactation, etc. Appropriately increase the diet rich in hematopoietic raw materials, such as fungus, lean meat, nori, etc. If anemia is severe, folic acid can be given. Severe anemia can be given folic acid tablets, adenosylcobalamin tablets, or vitamin B₁₂ treatment.
If the diagnosis is megaloblastic anemia, you should go to the hospital for standardized treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition. All the above medicines should be used in accordance with medical advice.
