Metaxalone is known generically as Atorvastatin Calcium. This medication is used to treat hypercholesterolemia, among other things; adverse reactions, such as rhabdomyolysis, may occur with the use of this medication. Atorvastatin calcium inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol and other cholesterol, which can be used to treat hypercholesterolemia and reduce the risk of diseases such as atherosclerosis. Adverse reactions such as rhabdomyolysis, hepatic impairment, and allergy may occur while using this drug, manifesting as muscle pain, joint swelling, elevated transaminase levels, and skin rashes. The appearance of the above adverse reactions requires immediate medical attention and discontinuation of the drug, and severe symptoms require symptomatic treatment. The drug is contraindicated in cases of combined active liver disease, drug allergy, pregnant women, women preparing for pregnancy, breastfeeding.
