Causes of involuntary shaking in children

The main causes of involuntary shaking in children include psychosomatic factors, epilepsy, and pediatric Tourette’s syndrome. 1. Spiritual and psychological factors: when the child is too nervous, excited, scared and fearful, it leads to sympathetic nerve excitement and increased secretion of adrenaline, which in turn manifests itself in involuntary trembling, rapid heartbeat, sweating and so on. Mostly small, rapid, irregular shaking of the hands and feet. 2. Epilepsy: It is caused by abnormal discharge of neurons in the brain. The disease can cause sudden, unprovoked, involuntary seizures. If it is a grand mal seizure, there will be convulsions and shaking of the whole body during the seizure. If it is a self-limiting focal seizure, it will be manifested as involuntary shaking of a certain part of the body, for example, the corners of the mouth and the limbs. 3. Pediatric Tourette Syndrome: It is a neuropsychiatric disorder. It is characterized by sudden, involuntary muscle twitching accompanied by involuntary vocalizations and slurs. So it can also be characterized by involuntary shaking, usually in a variety of parts and forms. Involuntary shaking in children may also be associated with other causes, and prompt medical attention and treatment are recommended.
