The recurrence rate of cerebral infarction patients depends on the degree of atherosclerosis of neck vessels and intracranial vessels at the onset of cerebral infarction. Some patients have a relatively mild degree of atherosclerosis of neck and intracranial vessels at the onset of cerebral infarction, and the degree of stenosis of vessels is relatively mild, and more plaques are not formed in the vessels, which are not easily dislodged to form new thrombi. In contrast, some patients already have more severe stenosis or occlusion, and there are new thrombi inside the blood vessels that can be easily dislodged, so the risk of reoccurrence is higher in these patients. In addition to the different degree of vascularity, it is also related to the risk factors of cerebrovascular disease. Some patients have a single risk factor for cerebrovascular disease, while others have more risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hyperuricemia, hyperhomocysteinemia, genetics, smoking and other factors. If these factors are well controlled in some patients, the risk and chance of cerebrovascular disease recurrence will be lower if the degree of atherosclerosis of blood vessels is not further aggravated. In some patients, these factors are not well controlled, and the degree of atherosclerosis will further aggravate, so the relapse rate is higher in this case. In addition, it is also related to whether the patient takes drugs regularly and the degree of tolerance to drugs, some patients take drugs regularly and the risk of relapse is lower, while some patients take drugs irregularly or even poorly for some drugs, the risk of relapse will be higher.
