Why some people have very severe cesarean scars

The same C-section scars, why are some deep and some shallow? What are the reasons for this difference? We divide the factors that determine whether the scars are flat into the following categories. I. Individual physique If a person has severe scarring in one area, but scarring in another area after injury is not too obvious, this person cannot be considered to have scarring physique either, and it is probably related to the tension of different parts of the skin. Other scars such as crabfoot swelling body, wound infection after childbirth, or women who reject the stitches under the skin will have ugly scars. Generally, the scars are more obvious for those with thicker abdominal fat and faster healing and smaller scars for those with less abdominal fat. Second, the state of the skin Some women find that the scar left behind when they have their second child is uglier than when they had their first child. In fact, the growth of scars varies at different ages, which is mainly related to the state of the skin. As we grow older, the skin condition is not as good as before, skin elasticity becomes worse, skin scarring at the incision, poor skin blood nutrient conditions, etc. These are all factors that affect the growth of scars. I don’t know if the mothers have noticed that the scar of the vertical incision is much more obvious than that of the horizontal incision during the cesarean section, because the skin pattern of the human abdomen is horizontal, so the direction of tension is also horizontal. When the incision is vertical, the horizontal tension of the surrounding skin is too high, plus the abdomen is still bulging after the baby is born, so it is easy to form more obvious scar in the healing process, especially in the lower 1/3 of the vertical incision, it is more obvious. The natural pattern of the skin of the small abdomen is horizontal, so the tension of the horizontal cut wound is the least, and the scar will look better after suturing; the tension of the straight cut wound is the most, and the scar will naturally be uglier than the horizontal cut wound. Fourth, infection, foreign body The fat layer of the cesarean incision is often sutured with absorbable protein thread, but because of its long absorption time, some patients can have foreign body reactions, allergies and other symptoms. Moreover, foreign bodies such as talcum powder, amniotic fluid contents and hair on the gloves during suturing can slip in to make the incision repeatedly infected, leading to fat liquefaction necrosis, wound dehiscence and overgrowth of granulation tissue, thus forming unsightly hyperplastic scar or even scar. Of course, whether the scar is good or not also has a lot to do with the doctor’s suturing technique. The formation of C-section scars is mainly due to skin pigmentation, deep wounds, endocrine exuberance, improper diet and other factors. If you are worried about scarring after cesarean section wound healing, you can go to the hospital for proper scar prevention intervention treatment after 2-4 weeks of wound healing, which can effectively avoid scarring after cesarean section surgery.
