Can IgA Nephropathy Stage II be cured?

Stage II IgA nephropathy usually cannot be completely cured, but it can be prevented or delayed from further deterioration of renal function, improve and alleviate clinical symptoms through long-term active and standardized treatment, in order to prevent and treat serious complications. It is recommended that IgA nephropathy should go to regular hospitals for consultation in time. Patients with stage II IgA nephropathy usually suggest that glomeruli show focal proliferation and sclerosis of the mesangium (<50%), with rare small crescents, and no damage to the tubules and renal interstitium. This stage has more severe lesions relative to stage I. Light microscopy shows focal damage with lesions affecting a few glomeruli (foci) and some lobules (segments) of the glomerulus. Although IgA Nephropathy Stage II cannot be completely cured, through long-term active standardized treatment, it can effectively alleviate the further deterioration of patients’ renal function in order to slow down the process of disease development, and it usually does not have too much impact on patients’ daily life. IgA nephropathy stage II patients need to actively limit the intake of sodium, phosphorus, etc., can eat more eggs, milk and other high-quality protein diet, and if necessary, can choose hydrochlorothiazide, captopril, chlorosartan and other drugs for antihypertensive renal care treatment.
