Side effects of polio vaccine and DPT together

Adverse reactions such as fever, redness, swelling and pain at the site of vaccination, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, depression and poor appetite may occur when polio vaccine and DPT vaccine are given together. Polio vaccine is a vaccine used to prevent polio, and DPT is a vaccine used to prevent pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus. Some adverse reactions may occur after both types of vaccination. After polio vaccination, adverse reactions such as pain at the site of vaccination, fever, skin rash and mental disorientation may occur. Adverse reactions such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, redness, swelling and pain at the vaccination site, and loss of appetite may occur after DPT vaccination. Adverse reactions may be superimposed when both vaccines are administered at the same time, so it is recommended that the two vaccines be administered more than 14 days apart.
